Don't Let the Light In

For Sarah, it was just a job that started off like any other babysitting gig. But Sarah wasn't the normal babysitter, and Jack wasn't quite the normal boy that he appeared to be. He has a secret, a secret that he keeps trying to share, if he could only find someone to listen to him about the monsters in his room. As the night goes on and things start to turn from cute and harmless to creepy and haunting, Sarah can't help but wonder... what if he's telling the truth? What if there are monsters in his room? Gunpowder

At the end of September 1941, Soviet artillery troops in besieged Leningrad realize that pretty soon they will fire their last shot, and after that the defense of the city will be doomed. The film is based on a true event: a small group of fearless soldiers transported a large supply of gunpowder through enemy lines to Leningrad.

Death Metal Grandma

The heroine of the documentary that was published by American magazine The Atlantic is a 97-year-old Inge Ginsberg, who first escaped the Nazi regime across the mountains into Switzerland, and after the war moved to Hollywood with her husband Otto, where she wrote music alongside him (their work includes Dean Martin’s Try Again). In the present day, she applies for the show America’s Got Talent where she performs heavy metal music, through which she wants to pass her wisdom on to the world, as well as to have as much fun as possible at her age. This life-affirming film is made with no special allowances for Igne’s age, which commands much respect.

Ruth Butler, a clerk in an emporium, marries Jimmy Rutledge and thereby greatly displeases his mother, the owner of the emporium, because of Ruth's lowly origins. Pictures of the Lost Word

For 50 minutes or so Pictures presents a series of static, or gently swaying images which are sometimes bucolic landscapes but more often industrial ones (sludgy harbours, power lines, abandoned railway stations or deserted factories). The interplay between the two sets of imagery is not simple. Wyborny photographs his modern ruins at their most ravishing – at dawn or sunset, partially reflected in the water or glimpsed through the trees. Shots recur throughout, optically printed into brilliant colours or else, given the washed out quality of fifth generation Xeroxes. As there are few people shown, one’s impression is of a planet that is populated mainly by cows, barges and hydraulic drills.
